Acts 2:43 states, “Everyone was filled with awe at the many wonders and signs performed by the apostles.”
There are 8 definitions in Webster’s Dictionary for the word Grace. The first one is “unmerited divine assistance given humans for their regeneration or sanctification.” This post could go in many directions. The study from which I am basing this series of posts parenthetically addressed this verse as God’s answer to prayer. So, let’s assume we’ve experienced a dramatic change in our prayer lives since yesterday’s post. When we pray to God, this communication will sometimes include requests of Him. His answers to those prayers are a part of His grace to us.
*Before we can experience this type of grace, you must first have accepted His free gift of salvation in your life…the true gift on which we base our grace-filled relationship with Christ. If you don’t know what that means, or are not absolutely certain that you have done so, PLEASE message me or find a friend who knows Christ to take this very important first step.
A few years ago, we put our house on the market and decided to move from Round Rock to Georgetown. As the summer languished on, our house had not sold, but we had found the place we wanted to purchase. One afternoon, in a bit of despair, we drove out to the new house and I took a prayer-walk around the perimeter of the property. It was 10 acres so it took a while. After I finished, we gathered as a family on the back porch and prayed together for God’s wisdom in the decision at hand. Immediately after we had prayed, my phone rang. It was Ty Burcham, another great friend of mine. He asked me to pray for him regarding a business deal he was working on. I asked him the same for us and our move decision. He told me to rent my house out and make the move. He said it with confidence, and it was clearly a word directly from God. I knew it for sure. Turns out, it really was the right direction for our lives, and I stood there in awe of how God still works to answer our prayers and petitions just like is described in the passage we are focusing on today.
Have you experienced a moment where God’s grace and provision just left you in awe? If not, yearn for that as you grow spiritually. It creates some of the best stories you’ll ever be able to tell.
